Volume 48: Mixed zone

Today there is no special theme – just music that came along and touched me for one or the other reason…

Philippe Jaroussky – Vedro con mio diletto from Vivaldi (fascinating voice…)

Solomon Burke – Don’t give up on me… (rediscovered this great soulman just last week)

Spandau Ballet – Through the barricades (almost forgot about this song, what a shame!)

Robbie Williams – Miss Jones (go get THIS DVD – an evening at the Royal Albert Hall with HIM, swinging… awesome!)

Robbie Williams & Jane Horrocks – Things (one more – just because it is a great performance)

Volume 23: Saxophone

Turned on the radio this morning. Baker Street – and the theme for today was so obvious… There are so many great saxophone songs – but only from the 70’s and 80’s… Where are they today? (I’ll find some Jan Garbarek and more for you soon…!)

Gerry Rafferty – Baker Street

Wham! – Craeless Whsipers (I could not resist – sorry… 🙂

Al Stewart – Year of the cat (Sax at 4.05 and 5.27, listen to “time passages” as well…)

Foreigner – Urgent

Roxy Music – Avalon

Spandau Ballet – True

Sade – Smooth Operator

Dave Stwart and Candy Dulfer – Lilly was here (before y’all fall asleep…)
